Imperial Hotel &
Restaurant ... A Brief Description
Step
back in time to 1879 when the Gold Rush was in full
swing, Amador City was a bustling mining town, and
the Imperial Hotel opened its doors to prosperous
Victorian hotel guests. Today the miners are gone,
but Amador City retains its historic character,
and the beautifully restored Imperial Hotel still
offers a warm and gracious welcome to visitors to
the Gold Country.
Described
as “both elegant and whimsical”, with
a “rich, seductive opulence”, the Imperial
Hotel is a place where time does not stand still,
but it does slow down. Local residents and visitors
mingle over cocktails in the Oasis Bar. Hotel guests
sip a glass of wine or cup of tea on the balcony
overlooking the town or on the secluded native stone
patio. A book or magazine selected from the hotel
library leads to an afternoon of lazy inactivity.
The
Imperial Hotel has nine handsome air-conditioned
guest rooms -- six on the second floor of the original
1879 hotel building and three large luxury suites
in a nearby 1930's garden cottage that sits high
upon a hill overlooking the town of Amador City.
The rooms in the hotel building have high ceilings,
original brick walls and large operable windows
overlooking the town. The three suites in the garden
cottage have private entrances, whirlpool jacuzzi
tubs for two, gas or electric fireplaces and in-room
refrigerators. Each room has a hair dryer, luxury
amenities and fine quality all-cotton linens; plush
terrycloth robes are included in the suites.
A
full gourmet breakfast with hot entree is included.

Review: We were looking for a relaxing
couple of days in the California countryside during
a driving tour of the state and chanced upon this
hotel while searching online. We couldn't have been
more happy that we did. READ
